Decking Materials

Deckorators

You're sure to find the composite deck materials you need to get your next job done. The Voyage and Vault decking are made with Eovations technology which provides the industry’s best strength-to-weight ratio. Featuring a fiber-like structure similar to wood, Voyage and Vault has unmatched strength that is nearly 35% lighter than traditional composites and similar in weight to PVC. However, Voyage decking has virtually no thermal expansion or contraction and is warranted for installation in the ground or water. An ideal solution near water as Voyage decking also features textured embossing for enhanced traction.

Thermory

Thermory decking is real wood that offers drastically reduced moisture absorption, so the rain/sun cycle wreaks less havoc. In fact, sunlight hastens the Thermory color evolution, getting you to beautifully aged silver in less time. Thermory deck will transform from its original natural-wood color to a breathtaking weathered silver. If you want your wood to stay the color it is, periodically oiling it will maintain the beautifully consistent color that’s resulted from our natural modification process. Remember, Thermory isn’t like other wood. It’s better. Thermory Benchmark Ash comes with 25+ year rot resistance rating, Thermory Benchmark Pine comes with a 20+ year rot resistance rating. For Thermory Drift products, those numbers are the same.

TimberTech

TimberTech’s composite decking is made of plastic and wood fibers. When compared to wood, it’s more resistant to the elements, splinter free, and low stress. With composite decking, there’s also no need to seal or stain your deck like with traditional lumber.

While traditional lumber still attracts homeowners, the appeal fades as quickly as the wood does. Without frequent maintenance, wood decks can splinter, warp or cup—and this can happen within the first few years.

With the look and feel of traditional wood and the added strength of a composite, TimberTech’s capped wood composite decking is a premium replacement to pressure treated lumber. The boards’ core is made of tough composite materials and surrounded on all four sides with a protective cap. It’s a high-end look with added strength at a competitive price point.

IPE

IPE (pronounced "ee-pay") is an exotic Brazilian Hardwood that makes not only a beautiful hardwood deck for you and your family to enjoy for years to come but is low maintenance as well.
IPE consists of dark brown tones and is known as Brazilian Walnut.  When the sun hits your new IPE deck you might even see a reddish or greenish tint in some of the boards.
IPE is the hardest of the Brazilian Hardwoods.  It is approximately 3 times harder than Oak with an approximate 100 year life expectancy. IPE is naturally resistant to bugs, mold and mildew due to it hardness (Janka Scale 3680) and density.  Once your deck is installed, you do not have to do anything to your new Ipe deck for it to last for years to come, but it will turn to a silvery-gray color if you do not apply a UV Finisher made for Hardwood.
Ipe not only meets but exceeds the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for slip resistance when wet so it is perfect for high traffic areas, ramps, docks, piers or by your pool.

REDWOOD or CEDAR

REDWOOD is a wood like no other and decks built of redwood are unique in their beauty and long-lasting service.

A traditional wood deck is usually constructed of REDWOOD or CEDAR. These two softwood species have been used in exterior construction in North America for over one hundred years. Generally, redwood and cedar decking materials in Denver are more economical than either composite or exotic hardwood decking and tend to create a more rustic appearance.

Besides their appealing price point, traditional redwood and cedar decking materials in Denver are also highly durable and makes an excellent choice for exterior construction due to the natural resins in cedar and redwood that helps prevent rot and decay. They perform much better than cheaper woods, like spruce, pine and fur, that are commonly sold by bigger suppliers.

Unlike composite decking you need to maintain REDWOOD and CEDAR for it to keep it's natural beauty. It will turn gray if not sealed with a stain. The benefits to REDWOOD is that it is the most economical of decking products and will last for many years when properly maintained and it is resistant to termites and mold.
